Yeah, when I got out of my beloved country in 2012, I felt my heart was broken. I was displaced with neither date nor return. A few months after our displacement, I realized how bad the situation is. I had to help my father at work. I started working, at the age of 14. They were heavy days, but I didn’t give up. I decided to finish my studies and hang on to that dream which was pursuing me day and night. I wanted to make a difference in m society and country.
That’s where I started my studying journey. I started attending the tests. I was working. I didn’t get any rest at all. I worked in the day and studied at night. I remember those days with no sleep, except for few hours. I was able to pass the Brevet (Grade 9 in Lebanon) test. I thank Allah I was ranked first among all my classmates. I was convinced that the possible and impossible are only related to perseverance.
Then, I started looking for a school to complete my studies, but my father couldn’t afford the fees for me and my four brothers. Close people advised me to register at Rouwwad Assalam school, where its management took into account our economic situation. I started my first year, where the school was my second home. We felt like we were among our parents, especially the wonderful teacher Fatima, who was by my side and guided me to the right path.
Yeah, I felt like she was my second mother. I learned a lot from her when we got tired because of studying, she gave us the strength that we needed. She provided the right environment despite all the bad conditions surrounding us as students and teaching staff.
Yes, this house is the house of knowledge that all of us need. By the grace of Allah, I am today a university student in my last year studying informational management. Despite all the past years that I spent away from school the principal always asks about my educational progress and my work. I feel surrounded by compassion and love. The school offered me a work opportunity. I was hired in my own school from which I graduated in 2017. I have customers in the digital marketing field but I will never forget that support they gave me. I wish everyone facing the same circumstances I went through to know this great place, Rouwwad Salam.
